Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has accused the Lagos State Government of defying a court order during recent demolitions in Oworonshoki, raising concerns over due process and property rights.

Tension has risen in Oworonshoki, Lagos, following the demolition of more than 70 houses at Ajileru, Ososa Extension, and Toluwalase Streets an action that occurred despite an active court injunction restraining the state government from proceeding with demolitions in the area.

The Lagos State Government has denied involvement in the recent demolition of properties in FESTAC Town, clarifying that it neither authorised nor supervised the operation, which has drawn public criticism and confusion.

Stop-work and seal orders were issued to developers at Partibons Homes Estate and Bee-Forth Estate Phase II, where illegal reclamation and sand-filling activities were ongoing.
