The traffic restriction forms part of preparations for the commissioning of several projects executed by Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration, with the five-span LAMECO Flyover serving as the centrepiece of the event.

Road Closure Takes Effect Before Ceremony

According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Bashir Bello, all roads leading to the LAMECO Flyover axis will be temporarily closed before 7:00 a.m. on the day of the commissioning.

The government explained that restricting vehicular movement around the project corridor is necessary to guarantee efficient traffic control, protect attendees and enable the successful execution of the ceremony.

Motorists Advised to Use Alternative Routes

Authorities have advised motorists, commercial transport operators, commuters and residents to adjust their travel plans and make use of alternative routes throughout the duration of the event.

The government also confirmed that traffic management personnel and security agencies will be deployed around the affected corridors to direct traffic, minimise congestion and maintain public order during the commissioning exercise.

LAMECO Flyover Marks Major Infrastructure Milestone

The commissioning of the LAMECO Flyover represents another major infrastructure milestone for the Osun State Government's ongoing road development programme.

The flyover is expected to improve traffic flow within Osogbo by easing congestion around one of the city's busiest intersections, enhancing connectivity for commuters and supporting commercial activities across the state capital.

Infrastructure upgrades of this nature are widely regarded as important investments in urban mobility, helping to reduce travel times while improving access for businesses and residents.

Government Appeals for Public Cooperation

The state government appealed to residents to cooperate with traffic officials and comply with the temporary restrictions to ensure a successful event.

Officials expressed appreciation for the understanding and patience of members of the public, noting that the short-term inconvenience is necessary to facilitate the commissioning of infrastructure designed to deliver long-term benefits to the state's transport network and economic development.

Infrastructure Investment and Urban Development

Road and bridge infrastructure remain central to efforts by state governments across Nigeria to improve urban mobility, strengthen regional connectivity and stimulate economic activity.

The completion of the LAMECO Flyover adds to Osun State's investment in transportation infrastructure, with improved road networks expected to enhance movement within Osogbo while supporting trade, public services and future urban expansion.

Looking Ahead

Following the commissioning ceremony, the LAMECO Flyover is expected to become fully operational, providing motorists with improved traffic circulation through one of Osogbo's key transport corridors.

The Osun State Government has reiterated its commitment to delivering infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation efficiency and supporting sustainable urban development across the state.
