Nigerian Red Cross Strengthens Flood Preparedness in 12 States

The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) has provided support to more than 200,000 households across 12 states through a flood resilience project designed to strengthen disaster preparedness, reduce vulnerability and improve community response to flooding.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance resilience in flood-prone communities as Nigeria continues to face increasing climate-related risks. According to the NRCS, the programme focuses on early warning systems, community preparedness, risk awareness and emergency response mechanisms to help vulnerable populations better withstand flood disasters.
