Lagos Steps Up Environmental Enforcement, Seals 12 Establishments
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments across Ijora Causeway and Apapa over persistent violations of environmental regulations.
The enforcement action, carried out on Wednesday, August 5, followed repeated warnings, abatement notices and opportunities given to the affected businesses to correct identified breaches.

Businesses Affected
The affected establishments include Helmar Building Materials, Laprivad Nigeria Ltd., Innocast Nigeria Ltd., Body Language Shipping and Cargo, Laodo Control Jetty, Adaps Nigeria Ltd. and Kehdi Equipments Ltd.
Hotels and commercial businesses including Bulus Hotel, Park Inn Hotel, Mandarin Supermarket, Hamada Enterprises and Infinity Pirelli Tyres were also sealed.
LASEPA said the facilities failed to implement corrective measures issued by the agency and continued to contravene applicable environmental regulations.
Stronger Enforcement of Environmental Standards
LASEPA General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, said the agency would continue monitoring compliance and taking action against activities that threaten public health and the environment.
The agency urged businesses and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices and comply with established environmental standards.
The latest action follows other enforcement exercises by LASEPA across Lagos, including the sealing of hotels, churches, lounges and other establishments over noise pollution and related environmental infractions earlier in 2026.
