Governor Sanwo-Olu Launches New Roads to Improve Commutes
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially opened two newly rebuilt roads: Abaranje Road in Ikotun Igando and Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Agege. These projects are expected to ease traffic, support local businesses, and promote economic development.
The 3.86 km Abaranje Road connects Abaranje to Igando and the LASU-Iba Road. It is designed to reduce travel time and improve access for residents. During the launch, the governor highlighted the state’s continued commitment to quality road construction to make daily travel easier and improve the quality of life.
He noted that this effort is part of a broader infrastructure program across Lagos. Other completed road projects in Alimosho include Akesan-Obadore Road, Ishefun Camp-Davies Road, and Phase 2 of the Lagos-Ogun Boundary Road. In total, about 30 roads have been upgraded or reconstructed in different areas of the state.
Sanwo-Olu commended the Lagos State Public Works Corporation for their work on the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Dopemu. He stressed that the government is focused on delivering real and lasting infrastructure improvements, not just promises.
The Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, said the projects reflect progress under the state’s THEMES+ development agenda. He encouraged residents to take care of the new roads to ensure they last and continue to benefit the community.
