Six Real Estate Marketers Abducted During Site Visit in Ogun
Six real estate marketers have been abducted in Ogun State during an inspection visit to a land site, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The marketers, who work for a Lagos-based real estate company, were in Oyebola village in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area on Friday to verify a parcel of land they were expected to market. According to local reports, they were attacked by armed men and taken away shortly after arriving in the community.
Ogun State Police Command spokesperson Lanre Ogunlowo confirmed the incident and said officers have begun a coordinated search for the victims. He noted that tactical teams have been deployed around the area and adjoining forest corridors as part of the rescue operation.
“We are aware of the abduction and our operatives are already on the ground,” he said. “The command has commenced efforts to ensure the safe return of the victims and to track down those behind the attack.”
The incident has sparked renewed concerns about safety in remote locations, particularly as Nigeria continues to face broader security challenges. While such kidnappings involving real estate workers are not frequent, the situation has drawn attention from industry professionals who often travel to undeveloped or rural sites as part of their work.
Details about the identities of the victims have not yet been released, and the abductors have not made any public demands.
NHM will continue to follow the story and provide updates as authorities release more information.
