Rivers State Government Partners With Masta Services to Develop 2,000-Unit PH-Airport City Housing Project
The Rivers State Government has entered a partnership with Masta Services Limited through the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority (GPCDA) to deliver 2,000 housing units within the new PH-Airport City project, an ambitious mixed-use development positioned near the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
The initiative, announced in Port Harcourt, is designed as Nigeria’s first aerotropolis, a modern urban model that integrates residential, commercial, and business infrastructure around an airport hub. The project aims to strengthen the city’s housing and investment appeal while driving non-oil sector growth across the region.
A Vision for Modern Urban Living
According to Masta Services Managing Director, Ugo Ohuabunwa, the PH-Airport City project is intended to attract professionals and executives back to Port Harcourt by offering high-quality housing and amenities within a secure and well-planned environment. He added that the development will feature contemporary designs and world-class infrastructure, with unit prices starting from ₦32 million.
Ohuabunwa noted that financing support for the project will be provided through the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and Stanbic IBTC Mortgage, ensuring flexible homeownership options for buyers.
Affordable Financing and Long-Term Repayment Options
FMBN’s Port Harcourt Branch Manager, Melody Ukwa, confirmed that prospective homeowners will have access to mortgage facilities, including rent-to-own and construction loan schemes with repayment periods of up to 30 years.
She explained that the financing structure is part of broader efforts to make homeownership more accessible while supporting the government’s housing development agenda.
