Ogun State Executive Council Approves 35 New Duplexes to Address Growing Housing Demand
The Ogun State Executive Council, under Governor Dapo Abiodun, has approved the construction of 35 new duplex housing units across Abeokuta to meet the state’s expanding residential needs and support urban development initiatives. The decision was taken at the newly commissioned Exco Chamber in the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan.
The planned housing units include 26 duplexes at the Ogun State Housing Corporation Office, Ibara, comprising:
12 five-bedroom detached duplexes with two-room attached boys’ quarters
14 four-bedroom semi-detached duplexes with one-room attached boys’ quarters
An additional nine duplexes are slated for HID Estate, Iseya Court, Obasanjo Hilltop, consisting of:
Five four-bedroom detached duplexes with boys’ quarters
Four four-bedroom semi-detached duplexes
These projects are designed to provide affordable, spacious homes for residents while enhancing the state’s urban living standards.
Complementary Infrastructure to Support New Estates
Governor Abiodun highlighted that the housing initiative is part of a broader urban development strategy aimed at improving the quality of life, providing adequate housing, and supporting Ogun State’s industrial growth. The council also approved associated road infrastructure projects to ensure ease of access to the new estates, promoting seamless connectivity and sustainable urban planning.
