Federal Housing Ministry, KTNN, and HDAN Strengthen Collaboration Ahead of Nationwide Home Ownership Campaign
The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, in partnership with the Know The Nigerian Network (KTNN), has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening stakeholder collaboration in the housing sector through a strategic engagement with the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN). The meeting, held in Abuja, forms part of preparations for the Renewed Hope Nationwide Home Ownership and Housing Development Campaign, scheduled to begin in Katsina State on 27–28 October 2025.
Strengthening Stakeholder Collaboration
The advocacy visit, led by KTNN Project Director Engr. Robert Chenge, sought to deepen dialogue and foster partnerships between the ministry and key housing sector stakeholders to accelerate affordable home delivery across Nigeria.
Chenge expressed appreciation for the support and leadership of HDAN’s Executive Director, Barr. Festus Adebayo, describing him as a long-standing advocate for housing reform. “We are honoured to collaborate with visionary leaders who have dedicated years to advancing Nigeria’s housing industry,” he stated, emphasizing that the campaign’s goal is to drive nationwide awareness and engagement on home ownership.
Driving Awareness and Policy Dialogue
According to KTNN’s Head of Admin and Operations, Mr. Richard Imhogere, the Renewed Hope Home Ownership Campaign aligns with the federal government’s broader housing reform agenda. He noted that the initiative aims to bridge the awareness gap among Nigerians and encourage participation in ongoing government-backed housing schemes.
“We want to ensure that Nigerians understand the opportunities available to them in the housing space and how they can participate in sustainable home ownership programmes,” Imhogere explained.
The campaign will run across all six geopolitical zones, with outreach efforts expected to include policy roundtables, stakeholder dialogues, and community engagement events.
Recognition for Sector Leadership
In his response, Barr. Adebayo commended the ministry and KTNN for their proactive approach and reaffirmed HDAN’s commitment to supporting collaborative initiatives aimed at reducing Nigeria’s housing deficit.
“Housing is too critical to be treated as a peripheral issue,” Adebayo remarked. “We must continue to prioritize policies and partnerships that make home ownership accessible to Nigerians.”
At the close of the visit, Adebayo was honored with the National Housing and Urban Development Reform Champion award by KTNN for his long-standing contributions to housing advocacy and sector reform.
Looking Ahead
The upcoming campaign marks a key milestone in the government’s efforts to promote inclusive housing policies and deepen public participation in home ownership initiatives. Stakeholders anticipate that the collaboration between the Federal Housing Ministry, KTNN, and HDAN will help sustain momentum around housing reform, public awareness, and private sector participation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
