Tetracore Energy Group Commissions 60,000 SCMD Auto-CNG Facility in Ogere, Ogun State
Tetracore Energy Group (TEG), through its subsidiary Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited, has officially commissioned a 60,000 Standard Cubic Metres per Day (SCMD) Auto-Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility in Ogere, Ogun State. The commissioning ceremony, held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, marks a significant expansion of the company’s midstream and downstream gas distribution network within Nigeria’s industrial heartland.
Strategic Location and Operational Capacity
The facility is strategically situated along the Lagos-Ibadan industrial corridor, one of the busiest logistical arteries in West Africa. With an installed capacity of 60,000 SCMD, the station is engineered to refuel more than 100 high-capacity vehicles including trucks, buses, and mass transit systems on a daily basis.
This project is designed to provide a cost-effective and environmentally friendly fuel alternative to conventional petrol and diesel. By targeting commercial transport operators, logistics firms, and manufacturers, TEG aims to significantly lower operational overheads for businesses operating along the Western corridor.
Alignment with National Energy Objectives
The Managing Director of Tetracore Energy Group described the facility as "critical infrastructure" that reinforces Nigeria’s energy security. The project aligns with the Federal Government’s Presidential CNG Initiative (Pi-CNG), which seeks to accelerate domestic gas utilization and transition the transportation sector toward cleaner energy sources.
“This is not just a fueling station; it is an engine for industrial productivity and long-term economic growth,” the Managing Director stated. He emphasized that TEG is committed to delivering practical energy solutions that mitigate the impact of rising conventional fuel prices while supporting national emission reduction goals.
Socio-Economic Impact and Community Endorsement
The host community has welcomed the investment as a catalyst for local development. The Ologere of Ogere, His Royal Highness Oba James Obafemi Saliu (Kankanbiina II), lauded the initiative for creating employment and stimulating commerce within the town.
The facility is expected to generate:
Direct Employment: Roles in engineering, plant operations, and administration.
Indirect Jobs: Opportunities in logistics, maintenance services, and small-scale retail businesses within the Ogere axis.
Broader Infrastructure Roadmap
The Ogere facility follows TEG’s successful Phase II expansion of its natural gas compression plant in Atakobo, which brought its total delivery capacity to 6.2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) in late 2025. Tetracore’s portfolio continues to grow across the gas value chain, encompassing piped natural gas (PNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), and gas-to-power solutions for large-scale industrial offtakers, including major players like Dangote Cement.
The commissioning of the 60,000 SCMD facility in Ogere represents a pivotal step in bridging the energy infrastructure gap in Ogun State. As the Lagos-Ibadan corridor continues to expand industrially, the availability of reliable and affordable CNG will be essential for maintaining regional competitiveness. For Tetracore Energy Group, this milestone reaffirms its vision to lead Africa’s transition toward a sustainable and gas-driven economy.
